| Yes, this was good. I agree with Chrissy that the first chapter had great hooks. The writing style was solid and intelligent, and not commanding at all, which is a sign of a secure seasoned writer. You introduced things confidently and briskly, yet allowed the reader room to move. I fully agree that this first chapter is much better than many the others. |

| Well written. Backstory is difficult to balance but I think you've just used enough. And a nice twist at the end, though it's not a new idea.Good luck - I enjoyed it. |

| The first chapter had all the essential ingredients to hook the reader. The writing was clear, concise, and easy to follow which puts this book in a league of its own compared to the other first chapters I have read- well done. |
